Update: Police assault We Are Change in Louisville at Oliver North speaking engagement
Louisville Police Department Denies Any Involvement in We Are Change Incident. Well actually it was Public Affaires Officer Phil Russel of the LMPD that denied involvement. While he admitted that LMPD did have a couple of officers on the site they were not at the the scene of this incident and had "NOTHING TO DO WITH IT".
From what I've been able to put together there are multiple police organizations and a few private security firms all working around the Kentucky Exposition Center. Public Affaires Officer Phil Russel of the LMPD while nice, is pointing his finger at the Kentucky Exposition Center and has zero interest in assisting at all. In my last phone call to him I mentioned that this was creating a secret police force. It's not so much that the police themselves are secret but the fact that there are so many different agencies and that the police officers we can find would rather run and hide than do their job makes it impossible for us to actually find the culprits. Phil was not phased; this was not his responsibility and the Louisville Metro Police Department has no interest in finding out what happened. Perhaps we should start calling Chief White at 502-574-7660.
I called the Kentucky Exposition Center and spoke to a gentleman in the security department. This was a fantastic conversation, unfortunately my recording device had a malfunction. It seems that people have been calling the Kentucky Exposition Center security office all day long asking for the video. The number of agencies involved with security was greatly reduced. There is the company that the Kentucky Exposition Center employs, there is the security company that the NRA hired, then there is the LMPD and the Secret Service. It's too bad the recording didn't work because at this point the security guard on the phone said 'them guys won't appreciate you guys callin like this!', so I asked him if he had a phone number where I could reach them. He didn't have a number for them that he was willing to share. The security guard might be calling in sick tomorrow so he doesn't have to deal with us and his boss Col. R.K. Meade will be in and answering questions. Perhaps you would like to call too 502-367-5360.
